Lifting work platform rental boom index in May 2024
Rent rate index
The leasing rate index of lifting work platforms in May 2024 was 654 points, down 2.4% month-on-month and 14.2% year-on-year. Except for the ≤6m model, which had an increase in leasing rate month-on-month, the leasing rate index of other models declined to varying degrees month-on-month, with the largest decline being ≥40m models, reaching 15.6%. The leasing rate index in May 2024 was still in a differentiated state year-on-year. Except for the 36~39m model, which had a slight increase of 3.7% year-on-year in leasing rate, the leasing rate index of all other models was in a downward trend year-on-year, among which the 8~12m model had the largest decline, reaching 25.4%. (The rental rate is calculated based on the number of days, and a 100% rental rate corresponds to 1,000 points.)
Rental price index
According to the statistical calculation of the reported data, the rental price index of the lifting work platform in May 2024 fell slightly by 2.4% month-on-month. Except for the rental price index of ≤6m and 14~16m models, which was basically flat and slightly increased month-on-month, the rental price index of all other models showed a slight decline month-on-month, among which the rental price index of 30~35m models fell the most month-on-month, reaching 4.8%. The rental price index of the lifting work platform in May 2024 fell by 11.5% compared with the same period in 2023. The rental prices of all models are still in a general decline year-on-year, among which the 26~28m model has the largest year-on-year decline, reaching 16.4%.
Since July 2022, the Engineering Machinery Leasing Branch has been conducting statistical work on the lifting work platform leasing prosperity index, and has continuously optimized the statistical calculation methods. In the future, it will continue to improve statistical indicators and statistical methods in order to reflect the market situation more scientifically and accurately for reference by companies in the industry.
